The 4 Programs Legae ICT Runs and What Each One Teaches

Legae ICT & Business Hub runs four core programs. Each one targets a specific gap in digital education and youth development in South Africa. Understanding what each program does helps you see where your support or participation fits best.

Program 1: ICT Education and Digital Literacy

This is Legae ICT’s foundational program. It covers everything from basic computer use to advanced coding. The goal is to build digital literacy that translates directly into employment or further study.

Learners work through hands-on training in everyday computer use, online safety, programming fundamentals, and practical software applications. The training is structured to serve complete beginners as well as learners who want to advance their skills.

Key focus areas include coding and software development, digital literacy workshops, and real-world ICT applications. By the end of the program, learners have skills that are relevant and applicable in today’s job market.

Program 2: Entrepreneurial Skills Development

Not every young person wants to seek employment. Some want to build their own businesses. Legae ICT’s entrepreneurial development program supports that goal.

The program provides mentorship, business planning guidance, startup workshops, and exposure to local entrepreneurs. Learners develop practical knowledge of marketing, financial management, and building sustainable business models.

South Africa has a strong need for small business development, particularly in communities where formal employment is scarce. This program gives young people the tools to create their own economic opportunities.

Program 3: Inclusive Initiatives for Youth with Disabilities

Legae ICT’s inclusion program ensures that disability does not determine access to digital education. This program provides the same quality of ICT training as the standard program, with adjustments that serve diverse learning needs.

The program uses accessible learning materials, adaptive technologies, and supportive training environments. The aim is to build independence and self-confidence through practical skill development.

South Africa has approximately 7.5 million people living with disabilities, according to Statistics South Africa. Many face barriers in education and employment. Digital skills reduce those barriers. Legae ICT’s inclusion program directly addresses this.

Program 4: Community Outreach

Legae ICT takes its programs directly to the communities that need them most. The community outreach program operates through partnerships with local schools and community organizations.

Currently, Legae ICT runs a Coding and Robotics program for Grade 7 students at Tarlton Primary Farm School in Gauteng. The organization also partners with Bosele Primary School and other community stakeholders to extend digital education into rural and underserved areas.

Community outreach removes the barriers of distance and cost. By bringing training to where learners already are, Legae ICT reaches young people who would otherwise have no access to digital education.
